Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting and following up on insurance claims, ensuring accurate billing, and supporting revenue cycle operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining timely reimbursements and compliance with healthcare regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers in a timely manner
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies
  • Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately into billing systems
  • Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and internal teams regarding billing inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of billing activities
  • Assist with month-end billing processes and reconciliation

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)
  • 1-3 years of medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification is a plus
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems
  • Prior experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician's office setting

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Office or healthcare facility setting
  • Standard business hours, with occasional overtime as needed
